FISHERMEN'S Protection Society chairman Paul Joy and wife Sandra enjoyed a trip to Buckingham palace to see the Queen last week.
Paul and Sandra, who works at the Conquest Hospital, were invited to an official Garden Party on Tuesday in recognition of his work fighting for fishermen's rights.

It was a double treat day as before heading to the palace they enjoyed lunch on the terraces at the Houses of Parliament courtesy of local MP Michael Foster.

Said Paul: "It was all very enjoyable and interesting. The weather was brilliant - it couldn't have been better. We also stayed in London for a few days and saw some shows."

Paul launched the New Under Ten Fishermen's Association (NUTFA) earlier this year and is leading a legal battle with the government over its "discrimination" against small boats' fishing quotas.

During lunch with Mr Foster they were able to catch up on developments, including the MP's recent speech in support of protecting the under 10 metre fleet in the House of Commons.
