Regiment to get Freedom of Hastings

47 Regiment, Royal Artillery, are to be given the Freedom of Hastings in a special ceremony to take place tomorrow (Saturday).
The regiment will march from the Stade at 11.30am, arriving at the Town Hall at 11.45am for a formal inspection by dignitaries from East and West Sussex.
This will be followed by a service at the War Memorial in Alexandra Park at 12.50pm with the regiment parading via Queens Road.
The regiment will march with fixed bayonets, and will be accompanied by the Princess of Wales's Royal Regimental Band.
Local veterans and cadets will get involved, helping to line the streets and collect for Army charities.
Hastings Mayor Maureen Charlesworth, who has been actively involved in the arrangements for the parade and granting the regiment the Freedom of Hastings, is looking forward to Saturday's event.
She said: "47 Regiment are based in Sussex, and it seems only appropriate to honour the work that the soldiers do by granting them the Freedom of the Borough. The sight of the troops marching through the town, accompanied by the Princess of Wales's Royal Regimental Band, is sure to be very stirring."
