LEWES RAID: Police hunt fourth raid suspect

POLICE are hunting a fourth suspect after an armed gang smashed their way into a Lewes jewellers yesterday afternoon(Thursday).
The gang, armed with hammers, raided W E Clark and Son in Lewes High Street at around 3.40pm.

They were forced to flee the scene on foot with thier haul of jewellery after a quick-thinking member of the public took the keys from the gang's empty getaway car.

After being chased down Cliffe High Street and South Street the gang jumped into a waiting charcol-coloured Ford Focus and sped away.

A car was later spotted at the Boship roundabout on the A22 at Hailsham and stopped by police.

The occupants tried to escape on foot.

Three men were caught and arrested.

Police are searching for a fourth suspect.
