HAILSHAM's charter market will go ahead.
Concerns had been raised about whether French stall holders would attend the event on July 26 and 27.
Their presence is needed to make the market financially viable.
Cllr Nick Ellwood told the Express: 'We were told that only 10 stallholders wi
ll be attending this year due to the fact there was bad weather last year and they didn't do very well.
'And the strength of the Euro makes their goods expensive.'
Town councillors discussed whether to proceed with the market on Thursday last week.
They agreed the market should go ahead.
A council spokesman said: 'The charter market is definitely going ahead and the french traders will be coming, as arranged.'
The charter market is one of the highlight's on the town's annual calendar.
