Donkey rescued from dung heap

A 30-year-old pet donkey was rescued from a smouldering dung heap.
The donkey, called Choccy, lives at Sussex Horse Rescue, Hempstead Farm, Uckfield.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue firefighters were called at 4.50pm and used specialised lifting equipment to pull the donkey out.

He was finally released unhurt just before 6pm.
