BEXHILL branch of the Workers' Educational Association, Britain's major voluntary adult education organisation, is offering 12 classes this autumn.
They cover classical music, creative writing, practical gardening, thinking like a philosopher, Sussex landscapes and Italian art and architecture of the 14th to 17th Centuries.

Practical art classes include drawing for beginners, life drawing, watercolour painting for beginners and intermediate students and mixed-media painting.

Classes are held in the morning and afternoon and cost £68 for 10 meetings but are free to benefit recipients, refugees and 16-18 year-olds. Brochures are available from Bexhill Library or by ringing 01424 210410, 214838 or 842332.

The branch's annual general meeting and coffee morning will be held on Thursday, October 16, and there will be two day-schools later.

The subjects of the latter will be 17th Century Dutch Genre Painting on Saturday, December 6 and Understanding Islamic Jihadism on Saturday, February 14, 2009.
