Hastings Senior Men's Forum - May 9

OUR last meeting of this session on Tuesday April 22 was addressed by a popular visitor to the Forum, Mr Harold Briley, making his eighth visit to us, to talk and show slides of the Falkland Islands - but this was very different from our usual popular travelogue talks, for Mr Briley was, before his retirement, a distinguished journalist with the BBC World Service, travelling in many parts of the world.
He was, in fact, as a BBC Latin-American correspondent the only BBC war journalist in the Falkland Islands at the time of the Argentinian conflict, and had much to tell about this episode in British history.

Altogether this was an excellent talk to end this session, which closes after the annual meeting next Tuesday, and re-opens for the next session in October – for which we shall give ample notice.
