ONCE more in this session, the speaker on Tuesday was one of the Forum's own members, Mr Philip Crow, who talked and showed many slides of his favourite holiday spot, Lake Lucerne, in Switzerland.
He began by superimposing a cut-out from the map on a map of our area of the same scale, showing how large this area actually is, and how far it might reach in East Sussex. The lake, with all its extensions, covers 430 square miles, and there is much varied scenery to be seen - waterside, mountainous, town and country, all to be reached by a variety of transport - rail, road, paddle steamer and funicular railway, to name but a few. Nor were famous names omitted - William Tell, of course, and also Richard Wagner and Friedrich Schiller.

Altogether a fascinating visit to country much talked about, but seldom visited by many of our members.
