ENTRIES for our latest members' competition, a Character Study, were read at our meeting on August 11.
The brief was to create a believable fictional character, showing what he/she was like both on the outside and inside, in a piece of writing of not more than 1000 words. Results will be announced next month.

We also discussed our next public event, which will be a Charity Quiz Evening on Friday, October 3, in the Sussex Hall, White Rock Theatre, from 8pm-10.30pm. There will be nine brain-teasing rounds (two pictorial) and an ongoing table marathon. This will be a great, fun evening, with a chance to try and win something for your favourite charity at the same time. Prize money (minimum £50, dependent on numbers) will go to a charity or local good cause of the winning team's choice. Tickets are £4 each to include nibbles. Disabled access.

All are welcome, whether individuals or teams (max six) but places need to be booked, please, by contacting hastingswritersgroup@googlemail.com or tel 01424 442471 (Rosemary).
