THE chairman welcome 68 members and one visitor to our July meeting and got the meeting off to a good start by reading us a very humorous little poem, much to everyone's amusement! The minutes of the last meeting were read and the various sections gave their reports.
Our chairman thanked Jill Halsall for waving the banner on our behalf at the Federation Meeting she had attended, with 2,000 women all waving banners, it was a great event and she had really enjoyed it.

The chairman reminded us of our Garden Party to be held at the Methodist Church on August 16 - she made a request for husbands - but only to move furniture etc! We hope the weather will be kind and the visitors many.

The annual prize for the monthly competition was presented to Marie Garcia.

After a break for coffee and biscuits our chairman introduced Trish O'Brien from SSAFA, our charity for this year. She gave us an insight into the work they do and the help provided by this charity aiding serving and ex-service men and women and their families in need.
The raffle was drawn and the meeting then closed.
