THE meeting on Monday, April 28 was the culmination of all the Club Trophy competitions held during the season, with the "Print & Slide of the Year" for which members chose their own selection in each category provided they were taken from entries already submitted this season. Judge was David Bryant, LRPS from Hailsham Camera Club, who gave constructive comments on all the entries.
For Large Prints there were 23 entries from which the judge held back four, from which John Pergande was awarded Large Print of the Year with "Life's a boar" (intentional pun!) and also 2nd place with portrait of "Charlotte", whilst 3rd was John Lark
in's "Ancient doorway, Portugal" and 4th June Larkin's "Spanish doorways". Similarly, Small Prints received 12 entries from which the judge again held back four from which Sue Clarke's "Highrise reflections, Vancouver" was awarded Small Print of the Year, 2nd and 4th place was Gwyneth Ludkin with "Mews Entrance, Lacock" and "Sunshade" respectively, whilst Val MacDonald's four shot sequence "The tale of the red jellybean'' was 3rd.

General Slides received 16 entries and the judge gradually selected the winners with Dorothy Reeve's "Grass" as Slide of the Year, followed by Sue Clarke's "Fallen" and in 3rd place was June Larkin's "New Iceberg".
From a total of 14 slides a reversal of fortune saw "Meerkat" by June Larkin achieve Natural History Slide of the Year and also a 3rd with "Fallow deer"; in 2nd place was Brian Reeve's "Speckled Wood" and tied 3rd Sue Clarke's "White Peacock".

Final meeting for 2008 is the annual meeting on Monday, May 12 to which it is hoped all members will attend as this is an important opportunity to discuss club business, and will be followed by the presentation of cups and certificates.

Little Common Photographic Club meets fortnightly on Mondays in the Main Hall at the Community Centre in Shepherds Close starting at 7.45 pm. New members are always welcome and the new season will commence in September 2008.
