DESPITE the dreadful weather 70 members braved the elements to attend our Wednesday meeting.
We were rewarded with a most entertaining talk by Mrs. Anne Chance on her desire to learn to fly. It all began with a parachute jump for charity and being dressed as superwoman her landing caused quite a stir. She also raised £2,500 for physically handicapped adults a cause close to her heart. But the flying bug had bitten and so began her quest to become a pilot. Learning to fly being a serious business for a 50-year-old, a real challenge. Mrs Chance succeeded to become qualified in three years.

Our speaker described her adventures and minor mishaps with great humour.

On September 16 a visit has been arranged to Canterbury and on September 24 a Beetle Drive has been booked entry £2. It will be fun.

Our Christmas lunch will be at the Wheatsheaf on December 17 names now being taken.

Our next meeting will be on September 10 at the club in Little Common, visitors are very welcome to join us.
