SIDLEY began Christmas celebrations in seasonal style as youngsters paraded with hand-made lanterns to the village green.

There people enjoyed mulled wine, a barbecue, a brass band and carol singing while a scattering of snow added the perfect touch to the event, organised by the Heart of Sidley regeneration project.

Local MP Greg Barker , who attended with his pet dachshund Otto, said “It was great to see so many people enjoying the festive fun. There was a true sense of community spirit.”
