Great result for Scouts
28/1/12- Ninfield Scouts jumble sale. Tom and Joe
A “FANTASTIC” jumble sale held by 1st Ninfield Scout group on Saturday raised more than £1,000.
The event at Ninfield Memorial Hall was popular with local people. There is still money still to come in as some donated items will be included in an upcoming boot sale to raise even more.
Group scout leader Peter Mann said: “We raised just over £1,000.
“It was a good jumble sale and everybody seemed happy.”
He said of the money raised: “We are delighted, and we need it because we have got waiting lists in every section.
“We don’t normally accept anybody into cubs or scouts because our beavers are already there. We have got more on our waiting lists than we can deal with and we have to keep to our limits. We have opened up an Explorers group for 14-18 year olds, so we need a hall for that, and we do need money desperately to keep ourselves running.”
