THIS Sunday is both Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

Unfortunately, the wrong details went in last week’s Observer regarding the parade at Little Common.

This year, the 11th and Remembrance Sunday co-incide, so Little Common Royal British Legion’s usual Remembrance Sunday schedule will be followed. The parade will leave Little Common RBL Club in Meads Avenue at 10.45am and march around the roundabout and up Church Hill to St Mark’s Church for the Service of Remembrance at 11am. On completion of the service, the parade reforms and marches to the War Memorial, where the Act of Remembrance and wreath laying takes place at around 11.50am. From there, the parade returns to the RBL Club. We apologise for any confusion.

And pictured here is Mr Len Lawrence, President of the Bexhill Branch of The Royal British Legion, with his awards branch committee, presented an Awards Certificate plus a voucher and a gold Legion Medallion to Sophie Batchelor and Joseph Miller who were the joint winners of the Legion Poetry Competition.

The two poems will be read at the forthcoming Remembrance Day Service to be held at the Sea Front War Memorial on Sunday November 11. Joseph will read his own poem.

Please note that there will be no afternoon Remembrance Service at St Augustines Church this year.
