Talking Newspaper’s tea party

VERSATILE pianist Peter Willson had a seasonal selection in store for listeners to Bexhill Talking Newspaper when the association held its pre-Christmas tea party in St Martha’s Church Hall on Wednesday last week.

Event organisers Christine Madeley and Sally Stanion had a wide selection of sandwiches and cakes ready in the gaily decorated hall when guests arrived, courtesy of a team of volunteer drivers.

The registered charity’s blind and partially-sighted listeners were able to join in a non-alcoholic seasonal toast before settling down to Peter’s sing-along Christmas selection.

There was a box of chocolates for every listener before the rota of drivers, organised by chairman Cllr Brian Kentfield, took the guests home.

The first Bexhill Talking Newspaper listeners are now enjoying their free weekly recorded readings via memory stick.
