BREACHING a community order has ended with an Eastbourne man facing court.
Richard Mitton, of Langney Road, appeared in custody at Eastbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday and admitted the offence.

The court heard how the 50-year-old had been given a 12-month supervision order in November last year with an alcohol treatment requirement.

This was amended in May for a breach and three extra sessions were imposed.

Since then he had missed further appointments and was asked to explain the reason to magistrates.

Mitton told them he had been looking for work and had missed a job interview when the police picked him up.

He added, "I'm not going to make any bones about it, there's no excuse for it.

"I'm in a house share and do not always receive the mail but that's by the by. I have just got a lot of stuff going on in my personal life and at the time when it happened it's a bit more important.

"I know it's important to attend the meetings. I don't wish to be disrespectful to the order.

"I have a tendency to act when things happen."

Magistrates added a further three sessions to Mitton's order.
