Pests: DGH better than most

PEST controllers were called to the DGH and the Conquest in Hastings 31 times between January, 2006, and March this year.

They dealt with vermin and insects including rats, cockroaches and fleas, according to figures gathered by the Conservative Party under Freedom of Information rules.
However, the figures show East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust was better than 70 per cent of trusts listed.
A trust spokesman said, "As part of our pest control policy we have regular surveillance to avoid pest incidents and minimise hazards, taking rapid action to deal with pests when incidents occur."
