ROADWORKS start this week (September 8) to renew the surface to the west of Exceat Bridge, at the Cuckmere Harven.

The work, which should prevent potholes from re-forming on the bridge, will be carried out overnight between midnight and 5am. The work is weather dependent so may be subject to delay if the weather is poor.

The road will be closed at the bridge during the works. Access will not be possible except for emergencies.

A diversion for light traffic will operate both ways via Alfriston and Litlington.

HGVs will be diverted both ways via the A26 and A27.
