Preview: Dead Calm and Violet Jive, Bell Hotel, Church Street, this weekend.
Double your chances to see top music at the Bell Hotel, with two of the area's favourite bands playing this weekend.
Dead Calm, who formed in 1996 from local rock legends The Lost Boys, play tonight (Friday) at 9pm.
The group, who have had numerous re-shuffles since their hugely popular stint during the 80s and 90s, say they are currently "slaughtering new material in an effort to make the world a better place", and the Bell is the perfect setting to see what on earth that means ahead of their headline slot at the Phoenix Arts centre next month.
From 12.30pm on Sunday, February 7, bluesmen The Violet Jive return to Bexhill with their dark twist on 50s swing.
Raj Lewis, who organises the Bell's music programme, said he expects the event to pack out after a successful visit from the trio last year.
He added: "The idea of us concentrating on music was to give Bexhill another live music venue to compete with the Hastings circuit."
Have they succeeded? Judge for yourself this weekend.
