Ben Evans has made a brilliant start to the latest event on professional golf's Challenge Tour today.
The 21-year-old from Staplecross is currently just one shot off the lead in the Banque Populaire Moroccan Classic 2008.

Evans began the 72-hole tournament with a four-under-par 68, a score beaten only by Michael Hoey (Northern Ireland), Matthew Cort (England), Matthew Zions (Australia) and Adam Gee (England).

Evans is aiming for a top 20 finish on the 2008 Challenge Tour order of merit so that he can step up to the European Tour for 2009.

The two-time Faldo Series champion is attached to Rye and Sedlescombe Golf Clubs, and is sponsored by Mick Maplesden.
