Likeable defender Nathan Godden is poised to make a welcome return to Rye United Football Club.
Manager Scott Price expects to complete the signing of Godden tonight following a telephone conversation earlier this week.

Price said: "He's exactly the player I've been looking for. He's been there, done it all and he's a leader."

Godden was a key figure at The Salts as Rye recorded back-to-back runners-up finishes in Division One of the Sussex County League in 2003-04 and 2004-05 before joining Crowborough Athletic.

He probably won't feature for another three weeks or so, however, due to a combination of suspension and a knee problem.
