HASTINGS United clinched their first points of the Ryman Premier season with a fine 2-0 win away to Dartford.
The teams went into this match occupying the bottom two places in the table but a goal in each half meant it was Hastings who came away with the points.
The U's took the lead on 13 minutes when Antonio Gonnella's shot from just inside the box ha
d sufficient power to beat former Hastings goalkeeper Tony Kessell.
They made sure of victory on 64 minutes in quite glorious fashion courtesy of a wonderful 30-yard chip from Sam Adams which sailed over the head of Kessell and nestled in the top far corner of the net.
The Darts, who have yet to score a goal this season, had their moments and only good saves from Greg Nessling and a superb last-ditch block tackle by Danny Spice kept them at bay.
Central defenders Rhys Whyborne and Nathan Russell both did well, while Scott Ramsay led by example at the other end of the pitch.
Lee Noble also hit the crossbar for a Dartford side which was lucky to still have 11 men of the pitch by full time following Danny Dafter's two-footed lunge on Ben Radley.
Hastings welcome Maidstone United to The Pilot Field on Bank Holiday Monday, kick-off 3pm.
