A talented teenager from West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club has been crowned a global champion.
Mollie Milton, 13, clinched first place in her category at the Junior World Tournament in Berlin, Germany, last weekend.

The St Bede's School pupil beat off competition from Canada, England, France, Holland and Switzerland in the two-day event.

Fellow West Hill ace Matt Owen, who attends William Parker Sports College, competed in the full contact section as a lightweight.

The 16-year-old was just pipped at the post by a Russian who went on to win the tournament after three two-minute rounds.

Sempai Leeann Lee said: "Once again they have both done us proud and I am sure there is a lot more to come.

"They are both truly an inspiration to all at West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club and kids in their age group."

Anybody interested in having a go at the sport can contact West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club on 07902 861214 or visit www.westhill-karate.co.uk
