Crowhurst Park maintained their stranglehold on cricket's Gordon Busbridge Trophy last evening.
Park preserved their proud record of being the only club to win the premier Hastings & District Cricket Association-run midweek Twenty20 competition this century.

The East Sussex League Division One leaders saw off Division Two side Robertsbridge by 57 runs in a rather one-sided final at Horntye Park Sports Complex.

Telham-based Park rattled up the impressive score of 172-5 batting first thanks largely to Chris Philcox (51 not out), Victor Walcott (50) and Michael Legg (21).

They then proceeded to bowl their opponents out for 115 with man of the match Richard Coleman taking 3-11, plus a direct hit run out, Paul Brookes 3-25 and Paul Lindfield 2-18.

S. Miller (16) top-scored for a Robertsbridge team whose chances of an upset effectively disappeared when Richard Hawthorne was dismissed early in its reply.

The prizes were presented by Chris Busbridge, of long-standing competition sponsors Gordon Busbridge Ltd.
