Hastings Priory finished second in the Sussex Cricket League after the entire final day programme was washed out.
Priory finished 27 points behind Premier Division champions Preston Nomads and one ahead of third-placed Eastbourne.
Hastings were due to entertain East Grinstead at Horntye Park Sports Complex on Saturday, while Nomads were scheduled to host Eastbourne.
Jason Finch's Priory side played some fantastic cricket during the summer and won its final five completed matches, but two or three disappointing displays cost them the title.
Spinner Mick Glazier, who took 35 wickets with a best of 7-87, received the player of the year award at a very lively club presentation evening on Saturday.
Bexhill had to settle for fifth place in Division Two after their final day derby at home to basement boys Sidley fell foul of Friday's heavy rain.
But the seconds of Bexhill were crowned champions of 2nd XI Division Two and will join the likes of Priory in Division One next season.
