Hastings Priory aren't getting carried away by their stunning start to the new Sussex Cricket League season.
Priory opened their Premier Division campaign with an emphatic nine-wicket win away to Brighton & Hove last weekend after bowling the defending champions out for just 48.
Captain Jason Finch said: "It's a dream start, but my feet are on the ground
. I'm not going to say we've got a really good chance now, the sign of a good team is how well you perform when you're down.
"We can't get ahead of ourselves. Eastbourne won, Horsham won and we've got a hard run of games. We're looking to consolidate, but if we get the ball in the right areas, we're going to cause problems."
The key to victory was one of the finest bowling performances from a Hastings side in living memory as Brighton's top three were dismissed for ducks and nobody went past 10.
Overseas player Chris Morris announced his arrival on English soil by taking 5-8 from nine excellent overs, Tim van Noort claimed 3-22 and John Morgan polished things off with 2-6.
"We've got a very good quality seam attack and, if they bowl well, we've got a very good chance of doing well because bowlers win you the game," continued Finch.
