Rye United will have to win their final game of the Sussex County Football League season to avoid the basement.
United need a victory at third-placed Arundel on Saturday in order to overtake neighbours Sidley United at the foot of Division One.

Rye were beaten 4-0 in the pentultimate match at Selsey on Saturday, a repeat of the result during last month's reverse fixture.

The team finishing second-bottom could escape relegation because Rustington are ineligible for promotion from Division Two, Crowborough Athletic are set to be promoted from Division One and Horsham YMCA may earn a relegation reprieve from Ryman Division One South.

Westfield moved within a point of the top six in Division Two on the back of a 4-3 victory at Lancing.

Goals from Peter Baker (2), Duncan Jones and David Miller set The Parishioners up nicely for their final game at champions East Grinstead Town on Wednesday.

Bexhill United were unable to make it 18 consecutive victories, but they did at least extend their unbeaten sequence to 22 matches.

The runners-up in Division Three, Division Three Challenge Cup winners and Sussex County FA Intermediate Cup champions completed a glorious campaign by drawing 2-2 at Dorking Wanderers.

Peter Heritage and Mark Funnell twice put Bexhill ahead against a team they trounced 7-0 in the reverse fixture.

Little Common finished sixth after rounding-off their programme with a 2-0 win at Uckfield Town thanks to Lewis Hole and Adie Kettyles.

The match was actually abandoned after 80 minutes, but the result stands.
