Westfield have bolstered their squad with the signing of experienced former Sidley United defender Lee Wood.
Wood, who played for The Parishioners before joining Sidley in 2002, put pen to paper at training on Tuesday evening.

The capture of Wood leaves Westfield enjoying an embarrassment of riches at centre-half with at least eight players capable of playing in the heart of the backline.

Westfield have won both of their Sussex County Football League Division Two fixtures so far without conceding a goal.

Although losing Wood, tough-tackling defender/midfielder Matt Cornelius and striker Terry Payne completed their transfer forms from Hastings United to Sidley on Tuesday night.

Provided their respective registrations go through in time, both are expected to be in the squad for the trip to Southwick in Division Two on Saturday.

Sidley suffered four-goal defeats in their opening two league games, but bounced back with a spirited 4-2 victory over Farnham Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Bexhill United have signed Aykut Kusku, a goalkeeper who played for Hastings United in pre-season, but are still awaiting international clearance and he isn't expected to feature until mid-September.

Bexhill have made a solid start in Division Two following their promotion last season with back-to-back draws at Lancing and Loxwood.
