Oxford City Council bosses have announced the authority will pay its staff a minimum hourly wage of £7.
The decision follows a campaign for public sector employers to pay wages in line with Oxford's status as one of the most expensive place to live in the UK.

The current national minimum wage for over-22s is £5.52 an hour. The change will come into effect in April 2008.
