CCTV failed to capture the moment a female commuter was pushed on to a railway line in Kent after telling two young men to stop smoking.
Linda Buchanan, 58, suffered bruising and a fractured wrist following the incident at Farningham Road station during the morning rush hour on Wednesday.

British Transport Police said station footage examined by officers did not show the incident o
r the faces of the two men involved.

Police are now looking at CCTV from up to 13 other stations along the line between Farningham Road, near Swanley, and London Victoria, but warned this is not a simple process.

No arrests have yet been made

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: "We are continuing our investigation with an appeal to the people involved to hand themselves in. We are looking at CCTV from other stations in previous days."

Speaking after the incident Detective Inspector Bob Richardson of British Transport Police said Ms Buchanan had spoken to the men about smoking on the station platform earlier that week.

He said: "The woman was very lucky she was not more seriously injured. The third rail carries 750 volts of electricity and she could have been electrocuted or even struck by an early morning train."

One of the men was described as white, in his mid 20s, about 6ft, with a stocky build. He had short cropped brown hair, was wearing beige shorts, a green round-necked T-shirt and trainers.

The second man was white, in his early 20s, with a medium build, bright red shorts and a dark top.
