Presenter Ball narrowly avoids 'careering' car
Television and radio star Zoe Ball has been "missed by inches" by a car which clipped her cameraman as he filmed her near her seafront home in Hove.
She was shooting a promotional trailer at about 12.30pm on Friday when the accident happened, her husband, DJ Norman Cook, said.
Cook, aka Fatboy Slim, said: "Zoe is totally OK, she is a little bit shaken but she is definitely not injured. The cameraman was slightly injured, not badly, just cuts and grazes.
"She was filming a promo for the RNLI at the end of our road. A woman came out of a parking space and appeared to lose control and careered into Zoe's cameraman. She was missed by inches.
"He had some treatment in an ambulance. It definitely shook them all up quite a bit. It could have been carnage but thankfully no-one was badly hurt."
A Sussex Police spokesman said the accident happened at Western Esplanade near Hove Lagoon and that the driver of the car was an elderly woman.
She said: "An old lady driving a car clipped a cameraman as he was filming Zoe Ball. He has got cuts and bruises, was treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment."
