HUNDREDS of pounds donated for the Sussex Air Ambulance has been stolen in a break-in.
Thieves raided the Lindfield Club at the King Edward Hall, Lindfield, and took the money in a collection bottle.
The gallon whisky bottle was on the bar and estimates have put its contents at £500 to £600.
Club committee member Mick Lewry said: "All I can say is I hope they have a guilty conscience: one day they might need an air ambulance and I just hope it's not two minutes late because of lack of enough fuel."
