A miracle baby has arrived home after spending more than a year in hospital.
Sienna Elizabeth Alice Francis was born at The Princess Royal Hospital on July 3 last year and one week before the current UK abortion limit of 24 weeks. Doctors believed she had little hope for survival.
She weighed just 1lb 2oz and her parents, Tony and Clare Francis, from Church Lane, Horsted Keynes, were told to prepare for the worst.
But little Sienna proved to be a fighter and despite undergoing five surgical operations, liver damage and catching MRSA she has beaten the odds.
Last Friday Sienna, who is now almost 14 months old, saw her new home for the first time and the family, including her three-year-old brother Oliver, are delighted to have her home.
Clare said: "It has been heart breaking, lots of sadness and operations where we didn't know if she would come out of it. It has been a real rollercoaster for us. For every step forward there felt like two steps back.
"Looking back now I can't believe we have come through it."
