12 hour collection challenge is a great success for hospice

St Michael’s Hospice volunteers and supporters got into the Christmas spirit by taking on the challenge of a 12 Hour Collection at the Tesco’s Extra store in Hollington.

The collection ,on Thursday December 17, raised an impressive £1,155.13 for the Hospice.

There was a fantastic array of entertainment from 9am – 9pm including; singing, dancing and performing from Churchwood Primary Academy, Sax with a Twist, Grace Carey on the flute, Glashin, Unique Expressions, Tornado Twirlers, Friends Unlimited and Jiggery Pokery.

Jodie Cornford, Community Fundraiser Designate at the Hospice, said “Customers doing their Christmas shopping were delighted by the entertainment and were happy to support the Hospice.

We would like to thank everyone who supported the event, in particular all the performers and collectors who took time out of their day to make it such a success.

“Including the total from the 12 Hour Collection, we are also delighted to announce during 2015 our supermarket collections raised an amazing £8,219.67.”
