THE NHS Health Check Bus has proved to be a resounding success with over 3,000 people getting on board for free health advice.
During the month long trial the mobile unit visited various locations throughout the local area offering advice on staying healthy, and for those lucky enough to get an appointment there was also the opportunity to take advantage of the free health checks that were on offer.

Suzanne Gooch, Communications Manager for NHS Hastings and Rother Primary Care Trust said that demands for the limited number of appointments available each day was high:

"Each day's appointments were booked by lunchtime and almost 300 people have had a Health Check on board.

"In addition, 2,300 people have visited the bus and received information on staying healthy and were signposted to other services.

"Feedback has been positive, patients have liked the choice and convenience of the mobile service as an opportunity to assess their health and discuss how they can stay well – the most commonly heard comment has been that they hope something similar could be done on a regular basis."
