GREEN-FINGERED supporters of St Michael's Hospice raised a huge £5,602 with their recent open gardens.
Suzanne Salmon, community fundraiser for the hospice, called it "the most succesful day we've had to date".

Ronald Winskell, of Bridge Cottage, Church Street, was one of the Old Town residents who welcomed visitors. Other properties were dotted along Church Street, as well as De La Warr Road and Hastings Road.

Robert, who had six stalls in his garden on the day on June 29, said: "We were so pleased, it was such a wonderful sum. We were all very proud to have helped raise it."

Suzanne said: "We went to Bexhill Old Town four years ago and it poured with rain all day and numbers were down, so it was great to visit the Old Town and have beautiful weather."
