NEIGHBOURS raised £363 by throwing a residents fun day at the weekend.
Saturday's fete was the second of its kind for Sutton Place, tucked behind De La Warr Parade, and despite stiff competition from a host of Saturday fairs, the stalls, raffle, barbecue and bouncy castle had an excellent showing.

Neighbourhood polic
e constables also brought their CCTV van along for information and to give a demonstration of surveillance techniques to youngsters.

The money goes towards three worthy causes: supporting local youngster Josh Smith in his fight against spina bifida, Bexhill Caring Community, and Jack Heyes, a young member of Bexhill Sea Angling Club and a junior fishing champion, who is in need of some updated tackle.

Roger Langridge, 64, chairman of Cobham Towers (Bexhill) Company Ltd - the residents group organising the fun day - judged their efforts a 'total success'.

"There were lots of other things going on the same day so we didn't make quite as much as last year," he said. "But the idea is to get everybody in our blocks of flats together for a social day, really, and that went brilliantly. "We had a bouncy castle this year, which went down very well."
