Take the opportunity to cast your vote for your favourite artwork by visiting the forthcoming Bexhill Art Society Exhibition.
The Exhibition will be held at the De la Warr Pavilion *Studio from Saturday August 23rd until Bank Holiday Monday August 25th. This is a chance for the society’s members to display their talents to the public at large, which they relish. Some of the society’s members will also be demonstrating their skills at painting at every session - except on Saturday morning.
The Studio is situated at the west end of the DLWP through the stage gates.
The Society, which began in 1961, is holding this annual exhibition and sale of members work for 2014 in the Studio and the exhibition will be open daily from 11 to 5pm on Saturday, 10 to 5pm on Sunday and 10 to 3.45pm on Monday. Admission is free.
There will be approximately 200 paintings and a wide selection of handmade greetings cards for sale.
During the three days visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite picture, ‘The Best in Show’, and the winning artist will be awarded the Terry Carter Cup, named after the society’s founder member.
There will also be a raffle, the prizes being framed paintings by local artists Jane Masters, as shown, Doreen Swannell, a seascape by Cornish artist Roy Lang and a months full membership for two guests, kindly donated by the Cooden Beach Hotel for their Leisure Club.
The Exhibition will be formally opened by James Kimber at 11.15am on Saturday August 23 following a preview for invited guests. For further information on the Exhibition please phone Rosemary Hodge on 01424 211473 or visit the web site, www.bexhillartsociety.co.uk
