THE MADCAP members of Bexhill’s classic bicycle club are exporting their vintage brilliance to Eastbourne for the town’s cycle festival on Sunday (June 1).

They are taking part in the Eastbourne Cycle Festival this weekend – with a ride culminating in a parade lap in the town centre when members of the Classic Cycle Group (CCG) in vintage dress will lead out riders for the penny farthing race at 11.40am on Sunday.

There will be a group photo of the peloton before CCG members peel off and make way for the penny farthing race, which will last about half an hour.

Members will depart from Asda in Sovereign Harbour at 10am for the ten mile there and back ride.

And the day before the group is holding a warm-up event between 10am and 8pm. It will involve a 30-mile classic bike ride meeting at Wessons Café in Horam and taking a circular route via the Cuckoo Trail across Pevensey Marches to Pevensey Castle and Normans Bay before returning via the Cuckoo Trail to Horam where there will be a BBQ and drunks a The Ordinary Bicyle Company headquarters at Stream Farm.
