Bexhill FM, the radio station run from Bexhill High Academy, launches on July 5, broadcasting on 87.7FM and online at

The radio station, dubbed this year as Return of the Mic! is all about the creativity and skill of young people and local adults taking part in the annual two week broadcast.

With the countdown on, the Facebook and Twitter pages are starting to hot up with teasers of what’s going on during the week, and additional support from local Bexhill FM supporters.

Sponsors this year include Hastings Direct, the De La Warr Pavilion and The Heart of Sidley. Others are Freestyle Combat Academy, McPhersons, SBS Consumables, Musics Not Dead, Allan Edwards and Eddie Izzard.

This year, Bexhill FM has wide variety with an arts show in association with the DLWP, a five minute community showcase which runs 10 times a day highlighting school and community content and partnership with the production of Grease, happening at Bexhill High where we will be offering tickets during our broadcast.

This is the most exciting year yet for Bexhill FM. We have established a core listener base and are really excited to put on such a full-on broadcast. I am particularly excited about our Community Showcase where we are introducing local content throughout our peak times of our broadcast.

Exciting shows from presenters include Richard at Breakfast, Joe Miller (student) at Drivetime and Louis Walker, Mr Controversial asking the questions on a daily basis to the people that matter within Bexhill.

The content from our presenters is important – we are 100% in the community. Our presenters would love to hear if there is an event we should go to, and broadcast live from! We want to hear your interesting stories, we want to hear why you love Bexhill.

The team will be out and about in Bexhill and will also broadcast live from the Bexhill Lions Triathlon on July 13 – from the sea!

Aaron Pape, Deputy Station Manager said: “This year, when planning our Outside Broadcasts, we wanted to be on the sea and the opportunity to do this with the Triathalon just fitted.”

Bexhill FM also supports community groups coming to the studio. The team is still looking for sponsors - email
