70 cycles marked up

THIS year’s first security marking event, codenamed Operation Marker, in Bexhill went down a storm on January 31 with 70 bicycles being protected outside the Tesco store in Collington Avenue.

PCSO Mick Hill said: “Following on from this success we are planning on running many more of these events in an attempt to help as many Bexhill residents as possible to protect not just their bicycles but other property too.

“The next event is planned for Thursday, February 21 outside Egerton Park Café from 1pm until 2pm. Please do not hesitate to come along with your bicycle to have it security marked and speak with local officers about crime prevention.”

• I f you see anything suspicious, call Sussex Police on 101 or contact the charity Crimestoppers, anonymously and free of charge, on 0800 555 111.
