A FABULOUS new festival in aid of a very worthy charity takes place for the first time this weekend.

The Ale and Arty Ale and Music Festival will be held at the De La Warr Pavilion on on Friday and Saturday (March 22-23) and features a host of great music and an impressive array of beers.

The festival, which is being run by The Rotary Club of Bexhill Trust Fund in conjunction with the De La Warr Pavilion, will raise much needed funds for MacMillan Cancer Support, Demelza House Care for Children, Kids Out and other Rotary charities.

Bands performing at the pavilion include, all the way from the Pevensey delta, The Howlin Blues Band who will be getting their mojo working on the Friday evening.

On Saturday it will be the turn of the Exiles, playing their brand of blues, jazz and folk at lunchtime and for the final session in the evening,

The seventeen-piece Blue Monday Orchestra will also be licensed to swing, with the help of Mike Hatchard on Saturday night.

Sally Ann Lycett from the De La Warr Pavilion said: “We are delighted to be working closely with Bexhill Rotary Club and we are fully supportive of this real ale festival which is not only the first of its kind to be staged here but also we are convinced this is the sort of event that will be appreciated and supported by local people. We also hope that if successful and well supported that it will become an annual affair.” Tickets are available from the DLWP website on www.dlwp.com or call the box office on 01424 229111, To find out more about the festival email mail@stutely.co.uk or call 1424 846444.
