Arrests made after robbery

THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a local 23-year-old was robbed in Upper Avenue.

The victim was persuaded to enter a house at about 2.40pm on March 6 after two women offered to sell him a cheap games console.

Once inside the house, his cash and mobile phone were stolen.

Two woman aged 19 and 20, both from Eastbourne, have been released on bail until April 20 and one man aged 26, from South-West London, has been recalled to prison for breaching the terms of his licence.

Detective Constable Craig MacPherson said, "We are in the early stages of this investigation and are appealing for witnesses.

"Anyone who may have seen the man with two women matching the description near the George Centre, St Leonards Road, or in Station Parade are asked to come forward."

The first woman is described as white, slim, with shoulder-length hair, wearing a black woolley cardigan, short black skirt and Ugg boots.

The second woman is described as white, of large build with shoulder-length hair.
