Award for Bexhill entrepreneur

AN entrepreneur, originally from Bexhill, who gave up a full time career to launch a franchise specialising in property lettings, is a national finalist in the 2007 British Franchise Association Franchisee of the Year Awards.

Now Terry Lucking has his sights on the top title 'bfa Franchisee of the Year 2007'.

He stands the chance to walk away with 5,000 courtesy of HSBC, when the winner is announced at a glittering Awards Event in Birmingham on Thursday, October 4, to mark the start of this year's National Franchise Exhibition.

Terry has run the Peterborough franchise of Belvoir, the property lettings and management specialists, for eight years and has built it into one of the most successful businesses in the extensive network.

The prestigious bfa Franchisee of the Year Awards – the highlight of National Franchise Week in October were launched in April as a celebration of the best-performing franchisees in a booming industry, now employing over 370,000 people and worth an annual 10 billion to the UK economy.

The judging panel, chaired by bfa President, Sir Bernard Ingham, was looking for franchisees who could show how they have achieved customer focus – the theme for this year's Awards.

The awards recognise excellence in three categories Gold, Silver and Bronze where, in the case of the latter two, HSBC will present cheques for 3,000 and 2,000 respectively.
