Bacon shoplifter is jailed for 18 months

A BEXHILL shoplifter has been sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Daniel Ramsey, 31, unemployed, of Kingscott Close, Bexhill, appeared at Hove Crown Court on Friday December 21,.

He was found guilty of shop theft.

At 10.35am on Thursday October 25, patrolling Police Community Support Officers were alerted to Ramsey, who was suspected of stealing a number of items from the One Stop Store in Turkey Road, Sidley, Bexhill. The officers stopped him and police constables were called.

He was found to be in possession of seven packs of bacon and a multi pack of Twix bars stolen from the store, was quickly arrested, charged for the offence of shoplifting and remanded in custody.

Ramsey was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for this and other offences. It was stated in court that he also has previous convictions of similar offences.
