Bagpipe playing Santa

CHRISTMAS shoppers were in for a double treat on Saturday when a bagpipe playing Santa and his elfin helper took to the streets of Bexhill to play cheery music and distribute chocolates.

Many people came out of shops to enjoy the proceedings and one shopper said: "It's not every day you see Santa playing bagpipes is it?"

Santa (Tim Hickmott) and Sophia Massey, from The Gael, Edinburgh Bagpipe Company, in Sea Road, said it was all done in the name of Christmas spirit.

Sophia said the Gael decided to play bagpipe music and to hand out chocolates around the town in order to give people some, "Christmas Cheer."
