Bexhill High firework terror

School children at Bexhill High have been injured after a firework was launched into a packed playground.

The rocket was sent flying over a hedge towards the terrified children, exploding right next to four 15-year-old boys.

One was left almost totally deaf, another was partially blinded, a third suffered third degree burns and the fourth boy suffered cuts across the back of the neck.

The incident happened at Bexhill High School in Down Road, Bexhill, just after 1pm yesterday.

Headteacher Mike Conn said it is not yet known whether the boys' sight or hearing will return.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to contact detectives at Bexhill on 0845 6070999 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
