Book launch at Ardingly military tattoo
AUTHOR David Arnold will be launching a new book of wartime stories at Ardingly's Tunes of Glory Military Tattoo and Concert.
The huge event at the South of England Agricultural Centre will feature an afternoon of music, stalls, a Dad's Army encampment with look-a-like characters and a chance to meet and talk to members of Bomber Command.
The afternoon activities, which are free, will be followed by the Royal British Legion tattoo performed by five of the country's top military marching bands, including the Royal Marines.
In the evening there will be a concert with soprano Hayley Westenra and quartet Blake followed by a laser and firework show.
Among those attending the day will be Lewes-based author David Arnold whose latest book, Seventy Years On, will be lauched at the event.
With a forward by Forces' Sweetheart and Ditchling resident Dame Vera Lynn, it recounts the experiences of members of the armed forces across 70 years of conflicts around the globe up to the current Afganistan campaign.
To read more about David's book and Tunes of Glory, including how to book tickets for the evening concert, see a special feature in next week's Mid Sussex Times.
