Bridge link reprieved

A bridge linking two halves of Burgess Hill has been reprived from closure.

The future of St Wilfrids path over the Brighton railway was under threat when an agreement between councils and rail land bosses about its upkeep ran out.

But results of talks this week have been described as positive and further discuissions will be held in three months.

Meanwhile the short cut will remain open to the public.

It is not a public right of way but has been used by generations with permission by railway authorities.
